Work Opportunities
Students may take up employment in the UK while studying
without seeking either permission from their local Job Centre
or obtaining a Work Permit, subject to the following
conditions:
() A student may not work more than 20 hours a week in term
time unless the placement is a necessary adjunct to their
studies and is undertaken with the agreement of the
educational establishment he or she is attending;
() A student may not engage in business, self employment and

A student may not pursue a career by filling a permanent
full time vacancy.
The Immigration Officer/Entry Clearance Officer may ask to see
evidence on any or all of the above points.

For Qualifying as a student, a
person must:

Have been accepted for a course of study in a bonafide
education institution or an independent fee paying
institution, or a publicly funded institution of
further/higher education;
() Be able to follow a full-time course attending for at least
15 hours of organized daytime study per week.
() Be able to meet the costs of the course, accommodation and
maintenance without taking employment or engaging in business
or having recourse to public funds.
() Intend to leave the United Kingdom on completion of

entry requirements & have got the freedom to take their

Foundation / Access Courses:
Bangladeshi students with
HSC qualification are eligible for doing the University
Entry foundation course/ University Access Course of
one years duration in the UK which will lead them towards
the undergraduate courses of their choice. |

Undergraduate
courses
:
Students normally enter degree courses at the age of 18
but they can be younger and many are older. For admission
to a degree course, you will need three A-levels or the
equivalent. For Bangladeshi students the universities
generally require HSC+ 1year's of study. Basically the
grades you need will depend on which subject you choose
and which institution you want to study at.
Postgraduate Courses :
Students normally enter into the postgraduate courses at
the age of around 25 and can be older even. For admission
into a postgraduate courses, Bangladeshi students will
need a bachelor degree or equivalent. For MBA programme
Bangladeshi students need a good bachelor degree of 4
years duration or a bachelor degree with some years of
working experience.
