Accommodations
Accommodation is probably the most key factor of expenditure for
most international students. International students have
basically three options:
1. On-campus accommodation:
This is the most easier option to obtain for the students. All universities
and some of the well established private educational
institutes have
halls of residence with a private bedroom and shared kitchen,
living room and bathroom.
2.
Accommodation with a family:
Students can live as a paying guest in an Irish home where
students have their own room with space to study. Morning and evening meals
are generally provided by the host family but students will
have to pay for a light midday meal on campus (about € 25 a
week). There are no extra charges for heat, light etc., and
some of the laundry work will be done. An
average weekly charge will be around € 95- € 120.
3. Self-catering accommodation:
If students choose self-catering accommodation, there is a
wide range of quality and price. Cheapest is a small
bed-sitting room with limited cooking facilities where
students share the bathroom with the other
tenants. Prices range between € 380 - € 700 per month.
